While searching for my first job in the electrical field to expand my practical knowledge and a better understanding of how things go in the real world, I was hired by KCS because of my can-do attitude. Key Responsibilities Examining wiring diagrams & specifications to determine sequences & methods of operation. The fabrication of mounting plates & metal work for construction. Measuring & laying out gear plates for control boards. Selecting, cutting and connecting wire and cable to terminals & connectors. Repairing and replacing faulty wiring & defective parts. Assembling modular gears in preparation for wiring. Using electrical and electronic test instruments to trace and diagnose faults. Testing continuity of circuit The organization & management of inwards goods. General workshop duties Drafting and printing Wire Numbers and Switchboard Labels using a Leaser printer. Train new staff in how to use Leaser printer and maintain it in good condition. Updating drawing and wiring diagrams to do As-built. Achievements From Zero work experience in the electrical field to training new staff, I am second in charge of our Workshop, and this happened in just Two years of working under a great Manager and Boss. Learned so many new practical knowledge skills after leaving my diploma labs. Show less
