As a MERN Stack Developer intern, I am involved in actively contributing to the development and enhancement of the chat module for the company's online portal. I am gaining hands-on experience integrating various APIs, utilizing JavaScript frameworks like React.js, and working with REST APIs for efficient data handling. Creating comprehensive test cases allows me to validate APIs and ensure a seamless user experience. Working collaboratively within a team of developers, I am implementing essential features like debounce search, create group, broadcast messages, custom filters, and edit shortcuts. Additionally, I am taking part in designing and enhancing group functionalities, such as adding/removing participants and assigning group administrators. Throughout this internship, I am able to gain valuable expertise in version control using Git and GitHub, effectively handling pull requests, resolving conflicts, and ensuring a streamlined development process. My experience working on a live codebase is teaching me valuable debugging skills, allowing me to identify and address issues promptly. The online portal I am contributing to serves as a platform for students to practice, take tests, and facilitates communication between faculties, students, and parents. Show less
