I have a great deal of experience in radio and voice presentation having presented weekly feature programmes and documentaries for more than 20 years. I have also done the voice work on management and educational videos as well as radio and television documentaries and commercials. I have built up experience teaching bilingual students from a higher school to University level and have different grades of teaching plans for journalism, media, interviewing, story writing and features. I have taught Masters level students at Groningen University as well as high schools in The Netherlands. I also have experience training media students in places as diverse as Kashmir and Myanmar. I volunteer with Refugee Company, which tries to get newcomers to find work or study opportunities - I help out in any way I can, writing CV's for people, doing the odd English editing or translating job when necessary. I truly believe in the philosophy of Refugee Company and like them, want to see every newcomer into work or study as soon as possible.

My brief was to enrich the company's English language database adding words and clues for word puzzles. I had to look at English language and grammar at a micro level, examining words for hidden meanings, nuances and twists. One of the perks of the job was re-discovering delightful arcane words that we hardly ever use but are so nice to know: knucklehead, dingleberry, klutz and gauntlet being just a few. For 10 years, I produced and presented radio documentaries and participated in some of the world's most important radio festivals. I have sat on listening panels at the Prix Europa in Berlin, and was on the jury to judge competition radio programmes at the Asian Pacific Broadcasting Union in Ulan Bator in Mongolia as well as the New York International Radio Festival. I have co-produced programmes that were part of international collaborations with broadcasters such as the BBC, the ABC, CBC and Soundprint in the US.I have also trained and coached junior producers and journalists.
