For my research internship, I had the opportunity to delve deep into the topic of subdivision surface algorithms under the guidance of Dr. Naresh Jotwani. We examined and debated different algorithms such as Catmull-Clark, Doo-Sabin, and 3-subdivision scheme. I took this knowledge and applied it to a practical project where I designed a C++ application that takes a 3D mesh with random topology as input, converts it into a Half-Edge data structure to manipulate it easily, and then utilizes the Catmull-Clark algorithm to subdivide it. I presented and defended my solution in front of a research panel, showcasing the potential of this method. Show less

As part of my rural internship, I had the opportunity to work with an NGO named Yuva Unstoppable and teach at Huka Primary School. Together, we worked to improve the school's technology by fixing computers in the lab and training teachers on how to use the digital smart whiteboards provided by the government. However, the most impactful aspect of my internship was the opportunity to teach Maths, Science, English, and Computer to underprivileged and previously ignored students. It was a rewarding experience to be able to make a positive impact on their education and future prospects. Show less
