MM SHARMA

Mr. Dhanendra Kumar , IAS (Retd.) as the first Chairman of the Competition Commission of India (CCI) pioneered the enforcement priorities for CCI and CCI delivered some landmark decisions during his period . While appearing as a competition law practitioner before him I found him to be sharp and focused in understanding the issues raised. He is an excellent orator and has a deep understanding on competition law .His role in advocating for the early enforcement of the merger control provisions will be remembered for long in the Industry. His efforts in redrafting the National Competition Policy for India , which is still to be formally adopted by the Government , has also been appreciated . In short, He is a fierce friend of competition in India having now entered in the practice, I wish him all the success in his new avtaar although I would have loved to see him heading some Training establishment for young and budding competition lawyers ,which India needs now..
