Mending Hearts Family Counseling Center, Inc. is a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to creating a parenting enrichment community to support parents of children with special behavioral needs and challenges that do not respond to traditional parenting. We have a special "heart" for adoptive and foster families but all families are welcome. Currently, we offer Parent Support Workshops. We are proud to be official instructors with the cities of Rancho Cucamonga and Redlands and to offer our workshops worldwide via online web conference. I am currently providing Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) in California Rancho Cucamonga. PCIT is treatment created for parents and their children ages 1-10 with behavioral challenges that do not respond to traditional parenting. Through PCIT parents learn specialized skills to manage tantrums, screaming, hitting, cursing, throwing objects and biting so that parents can regain a sense of calm and joy in their everyday interactions with their children. Over 30 years of research has shown that in as little as 14 sessions, PCIT can radically transform disruptive behaviors in children. Adoptive and foster families can especially benefit! Show less
