In this position, I manage a variety of grants, contracts, programs, services, and staff. As a contract monitor for Quality Counts California (QCC), I ensured all provider contracts within my caseload were being implemented appropriately. QCC coaches were assigned to support agencies within my caseload, as such I also ensured coaches provided effective guidance and document quality improvement efforts. Additionally, I created, reviewed, and approved professional development training and workshops delivered to providers in the field of early childhood education. I am also the Child Care and Development Local Planning Council Coordinator. The Council is governed by the County Board of Supervisors and County Superintendent of Schools. As the coordinator I assess the county’s child care and workforce needs; as well as facilitate the preparation of a county-wide comprehensive child care plan. The Council is comprised of about 40 members. It is within my role to facilitate county-level meetings, develop and maintain state and county reports, and communicate/collaborate with the California State Departments of Education and Social Services.
