Shortly after stepping into the new role, we started building a new team dedicated to handling the transition for existing VMware customers from vRA 7 to vRA 8. The team's focus was customers' migrations and one of my roles was the direct communication with the companies' architects and analyzing their current solution and designing a plan for migration/modernization via automation, tools and manual effort.A key aspect of the team's business positioning was an internal tool we started creating from scratch. The tool needed to integrate with a set of VMware products (NSX, VCD, vRA), collect data, analyze, create a report, simplify the process of understanding the customer's solution and integrations and eventually automate most of the steps in the migration process. The technologies we used were Node.js, Express.js, Angular, SQLite, Sequelize, Docker, Clarity UI.My role in the team was communication and synchronization with different VMware engineering and professional services architects. Getting to my new role I had been given a more presentational and leadership role. I was sent to foreign European customers extending their current team, designing, helping them in future designing and implementing on their own and coaching them on the new functionalities of their main VMware platform - vRA/vRO.As the customer engagement ended, I switched to working on remote projects and leading small remote teams. Shortly after, my role turned once again to represent the company and the team in onside engagement, this time with a team of people at the customer's office.I was participating in the internal implementation and improvement of teams' tooling.I was actively creating and updating new members' training materials. I was responsible for technically interviewing the company's candidates, onboarding them to the company's policies, culture and guiding them through the processes. I was also responsible for their technical mentorship, their day-to-day tasks and growth.My responsibilities also included initial discussions with VMware's potential customers about how do they foresee the engagement, whether the solution is achievable and what assumptions and prerequisites must be met before we start the project. After the contract was signed, I was responsible for creating a Solution Design, bootstrapping the project, guiding and leading the team through the implementation and delivery. Show less
