Developed an energy model to simulate the total cost of various electrification strategies. The model utilizes real-world data from the EIA and uses a theoretical block-by-block electrification to compare both gas and electricity prices as people convert. Utilized the PixHawk Cube navigational computer to integrate various sensors/ components of a fully autonomous electric boat a.k.a "SurfBoat". These include reliably controlling the boat's speed controllers, rTk GPS, telemetry modules, and even a long distance RC controller. Utilized Mission Planner to test and tune the PID control of the boat's differential thrust steering, while adding geo-fencing program to prevent oversteering during autonomous control. Developed a Standard Operating Procedure document to highlight safe handling and precausions of our prototype on University research tanks and on public water front (Middle Branch Park) during our large scale open water tests. Assisted Itic Tinman with on-campus prototyping and testing of a modified lawn mower which allowed the user to detect (through sound/ haptics) objects along the mower's path. - Calibrated the mower's camera (powered by NVIDIA Jetson) to produce a white background when sensing the green grass through varying lighting conditions and to produce a negative (black) image when sensing all other colored objects. - Tested the effectiveness of the mower's sub-systems at BISM HQ by simulating mowing activities and recording (quantitatively/ qualitatively) the time it takes to detect an object, the amount of objects that were detected and the overall success of a blind participant to sense both static/ fast moving obstacles. Collaborated with Marcos Schwartz (remote) to improve the mower's color-based detection system by increasing the camera's contrast and color intensity profiles to around 30%. This resulted in ~15% faster and more precise object detection as tested with various toys, people, rocks, and branches. Show less

Organized and cataloged space research data from three decades ago using an easy to use digital filing system. Created a budget of exisiting project funds and expected future grants/ awards using Excel. Developed a timeline that showcases progress of all existing research and to highlight important milestones achieved of on-going projects. Coordinate event details for IDIES Urban Spaces Symposium which included venue setup, accomodating guest speakers, and the creation of banners using Adobe Illustrator. Show less
