Based on the Dumfries House Estate, I oversee all health and safety related aspects of the Prince's Foundation's operations. This role involves a number of premises in Scotland and England. The Prince's Foundation's activities are extremely varied, including:- general office and administrative work;- tours of a stately home;- catering (events, cafe and restaurant);- educational activities offered to schools;- educational programmes, including textiles/building crafts/cookery/hospitality training;- PhD, MA and public programmes;- joinery and estate maintenance;- gardening and upkeep of grounds;- outdoor pursuits;- housekeeping and cleaning;In regards to the health and safety aspects of the operations, my role includes:- ensuring that senior management are aware of their responsibilities regarding health and safety;- policy writing;- overseeing risk assessments and providing advice;- overseeing COSHH assessments and providing advice;- overseeing the provision of training, including providing training sessions and resources;- ensuring all accidents/incidents/near misses are reported and recorded, including RIDDOR;- carrying out DSE assessments and providing advice/solutions;- overseeing fire safety, such as FRAs/testing and maintenance/evacuation procedures;- creating and maintaining the health surveillance programme.
