  Conducted a literature review assessing the effectiveness of phytoremediation by wetland plants in removal of emerging contaminants from wastewater and storm water. This included researching the different metabolic processes of the plants to uptake and breakdown the pollutants, and researching various plants' ability to tolerate higher concentrations of contaminants.   As part of the course PSY 499, I assisted in research in the North Carolina State University Daily Wellbeing in Adulthood Lab. Primarily I helped in coding survey results. I also presented our findings on the relationship between mindfulness and one's attitude towards their own aging at the 2017 Southern Gerontological Society Conference in Asheville, North Carolina.
