W5 is Canada's most-watched investigative and documentary-newsmagazine program.Key Activities include:• Develop and implement a strong management plan for all story projects; i.e. seamless production schedules; coordination of all technical gear is maintained; communication between team and senior producer upheld• Manage and coordinate all travel/itinerary/ and crewing logistics. I.e. Booking all flights for crew members/hotels/car rentals and managing a problem-free itinerary for travelers; also assigning cameraman to every project. • Management and tracking of budget. I track every purchase and cost of the show, and input into data sheet to allow Executive Producer to know true cost day of. This ranges from a flight cost to cameramen daily rate of pay. • Leading and motivating the production team; including managing all the risks, issues and changes that will happen while production is on the road or in the office; ensure a productive and safe environment was being upheld at all times. • Create and contribute to content ideas (pitch stories/fact check) for investigative topics. I.e. Story idea of “most dangerous city in Canada” has been chosen for our story line-up for this season. • Oversee all necessary insurance and legal logistics for all stories and projects meant for air. This includes working with the legal department of Bell Media to ensure all stories are vetted and safe for air.• Provide leadership on new technology developments. i.e. new cameras/equipment. This has included the research and purchase of brand new hidden camera equipment to bring the best quality to the show and enhance stories. Show less

Key Activities include: • Managed and oversaw internal development of story ideas from concept phase through to air-date.• Took point on initiatives and change management to improve the daily flow of production elements and ensure an efficient and quality environment for producers and all crew members.• Managed and approved all show costs pertaining to production. This included the monetary rate of cameramen/audio men booked for day-of or long-term work, over-time for all crew members, extra equipment such as go-pro usage. I also tracked and monitored freelance producer rates to ensure we reached target cost without overspending. • Present a detailed analysis of all show costs (including internal and external) that would be used for upcoming fiscal year; present to Executive Producer so she could understand where important pockets of money lived going into the next season of the show. • Oversaw status of entire show cost to ensure tax credits expectations were met. This included knowing the amount of money spent in Ontario (this includes camera rates to employee salaries and benefits) to ensure we reached the proper percentage to get $1-million dollar credit in taxes. • Point person for seeing through stories that break day-of. I.e. When Stephen Hawking passed; I had to find a cameraman to shoot an interview in London, England within two hours from point-of-contact. Once interview was completed, I would find a location for them to head for transmitting the footage. I would trouble-shoot all technological issues, ensure the footage is saved into our internal system and edited in time for air at 7PM that night. • Formed and maintained relationships with international companies that allowed for more affordable rates and priority bookings. i.e. Certain companies would give us a discount rate because I would use them often and refer them.
