Fabricator/CAD Design

Aug 2014 - Present
I started as a basic arc welder and assembly helper. In the almost 8 years I have learned just about every position in the shop. As people left I was able to pick up the knowledge it took to carry the extra weight. Over the years I have been welding, programming and operating brake presses, programming and operating a nitrogen/ oxygen laser, designing and programming CAD jobs and also training people on the various machines. My welding experience includes but not limited to mig/ tig welding mild steel, stainless and aluminum. From 20ga to 3/8 thick. Sheet metal, angle, channel, tubing, pipe and more. We are a custom fab shop so it varies. The welding includes prepping our own work, grinding smooth and polishing welds. My experience on the brake press includes a few different machines. Most of our forming is sheet metal but we do form thicker material up to 1/2. The material is all in shop laser cut, formed and welded. So I form aluminum, mild steel and stainless as needed. I have plenty of experience calculation my own bend gains and accounting for material stretch. The laser experience is with cutting all material thickness from 24ga to 3/8. That is aluminum mild steel and stainless as well. The CAD experience I have is on Autodesk Autocad. Most of the designing and programming is with flat views in 2d. I often redefine customer prints they send over and create DXF files for the laser to cut. I have trained and overseen coworkers to operate the laser, brake presses and welding. For a while I was the shift lead in charge of training, supervising and keeping production and machines going. Show less
