Dev was part of my team at Glenmark and reported to me directly. Looking back at his leadership there are four aspects that I would like to highlight: a. Resilient: Dev exhibited a lot of resilience in managing the respiratory and acute businesses that he led in challenging times with significant headwinds. He was open in his communication and built strong relationships with his team and customers. He was open to feedback and didn’t hesitate to course correct. b. Insightful: With his formative experience in the consumer/OTC industry, he was able to uncover insights from patients and doctors that helped in building a strong foundation for the respiratory business. c. Solutions seeker: He led his team well and would more often than not guide them towards a creative yet pragmatic solution. Having a solutions mindset, he always came up with holistic and systemic solutions on how to tackle problems or capitalize on opportunities. d. Execution focus: He was committed to flawless execution, with the end in mind and well defined building blocks and milestones. He was also appreciated for his compassionate leadership and ability to challenge the status quo. I would highly recommend him and keenly watch his career progress.

I managed Devendra directly and he was excellent leader to work with in a tough role. Under his leadership the Angola business did very well on all key parameters despite devaluation and other macro challenges. As part of my team, he was always willing to share his learnings, insights and remained a keen listener for other ideas. He is an authentic leader, inspirational, very demanding of himself but also very caring for his team and their development. He is a true general manager always looking out for both the business and his team. Devendra is great to work with and I highly recommend him.
