Mrs. Capers work as a Transition Advisor is top notch. With her diverse responsibilities, she manages to effectively consult and assist students with disabilities, advise parents/guardians of their role in helping students attain their goals, and effectively communicate with employers to link students with work based learning experiences. I have had the privilege of attending multi-disciplinary meetings with Mrs. Capers. There are some things that the four walls of an institution don't teach you; things that I have learned by watching Mrs. Capers in meetings, is the advocacy she displays for students like her own. She exercises compassion which is so difficult to exude; yet absolutely necessary in the education profession. Mrs. Capers is a high-talented, brilliant, service-oriented, and generous individual. I truly admire her passion and commitment to the students she serves at Richland School District One.

It is my great pleasure to recommend Destra Capers. I have worked with Destra at Midlands Technical College in the Department of Student Development and Services. Her strategic thinking with strong analytical and creative problem-solving abilities shined as she worked throughout the community. Destra utilizes her exceptional interpersonal skills to build relationships to empower student learners of all ages. She was recognized and awarded Staff Member of the Year while working at Midlands Tech. Destra’s relentless focus on the big picture of accessible education for all learning styles is an asset to any organization. I have no reservation giving Destra my highest recommendation. I am confident she will continue to establish healthy partnerships with community members, families, and students wherever she is employed.
