  My work supports the research the group is performing with the BICEP/Keck program, which is a series of experiments being conducted at the South Pole to measure the Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB). I am fabricating optical elements for two new BICEP Array receivers, which involves optimizing polyethylene lenses, vacuum windows, aluminum oxide and nylon infrared filters. I will also be exposed to experimental physics methods including: thermoplastic annealing, heat lamination, vacuum technology, designing parts, machining, metrology, and quasi-optical vector network analyzer measurements. I am working with senior members of the lab to create samples, conduct measurements, and build the science-grade optical elements for the BICEP Array. I will also perform and document analyses of the data gathered during this process and will present these findings to collaborators at partner institutes.
