I oversee and manage the vehicle and fork lift truck fleet to ensure they are inspected and serviced as per the company policy but more importantly in line with the"O" licence. I carry out adhoc inspections to ensure loads are correctly strapped and secured prior to leaving site and on return. Once faults and damages are reported I contact the various repair agencies and arrange for them to be rectified. I carry out investigations in to accidents, both vehicle and health and safety as well as complaints and deal with the necessary parties involved. I manage the driver hours information system and deal with any non compliance. My duties also include the management of the drivers licenses both employed and agency. With the arrival of new staff, both office, warehouse and drivers I conduct inductions to ensure that they are aware of their responsibilities in respect of themselves and others. I have now qualified as a Driving assessor for the company as well as a ADR Awareness Trainer. I carry out self-audits regularly to ensure that the depot is compliant in respect of drivers, vehicles and FLT's. I have now started training to become a DSA LGV instructor having now completed the theory and hazard perception test. I was made redundant and have moved on to pastures new.
