My name is Derrick Weston. I am a spiritual director and ordained minister. I have been blogging for about 10 years. For the past five years I have co-hosted a podcast called "God Complex Radio" that highlights the voices of progressive faith leaders. This past year I started a web series along with my friend and fellow spiritual director Amy Shoemaker called "Drinks with Amy", devoted to self care. Since February I have been devoting much more of time to writing and producing content. This spring I started a blog called "To Pimp a Bible Study" based off of Kendrick Lamar's fantastic album "To Pimp a Butterfly" examining hip hop lyrics for spiritual truths. I've also begun working on a book project. I want to devote myself more fully to writing pieces that touch on spirituality, social justice, self care, pop culture, and the cultivation of beauty.
