I first met Deroy Destang in June of 1997 when I joined the architectural practice of Newel Lewis Broadbridge (West Indies) Associates in Rodney Bay, St Lucia. At the time, Deroy had already been working with the practice for over five years as a very experienced Senior Architect Assistant. In the ten (10) years we worked together at NLBA, Deroy demonstrated considerable talent and commitment to becoming a professional. He was extremely mature, self motivated, consistent and was clear in his understanding of most aspects of the practice of architecture, including design, detail, presentation and management.
