  In a 3 month internship I worked in the LHCb department during Long Shutdown 1 on the improvement of the VELO detector. The project purpose was to use chemical etching to improve the quality of a foil and to analyze and quantify the machining quality. Studying was done into theoretical physics, learning about particle physics and the work done at CERN, historically and currently.   I created the installation specifications for ventilation systems, chimney lay-outs, ventilation duct placement, and unit installation. I used AutoCAD and STABIplan to import blueprints and then use the architects specification to create a system in balance with the plumbing and electrics.
