I am managing a 4,000 m² building of fully serviced office space set in a prime location in Cape Town. Our building is Four Star Green Star certified by the GBCSA. As an assistant manager, you need to be well rounded and a great people’s person. In my daily roll, I assisted and helped our reception team, IT department, our onsite café and all internal clients which might require my assistance. In my roll, I look after the centre and this is done by managing support staff (cleaners) as well as a team of maintenance workers. I deal with any queries that might arise from our clients, which involve upgrades in offices, billing queries and maintenance issues.I am also in charge of placing orders for our building which include cleaning products, Ciro orders for our vending machines and hygiene products for our bathrooms. I also assist in procurement of new vendors when needed.I oversee the IT department, and assist the team when assistance is required. With my IT background it is easy to assist any IT query our clients might have.I conduct training with my support staff on a weekly basis, and work out new procedures for them on regular basis. This would include manuals and on the job training.I also assist in cross training with other staff members, as it is important to have team members that can assist and step into any roll if the need arises. This roll has taught me to be a giver to those around me. I find a rewarding to see those around be grow in not only their work life but in their private capacity as well. Show less
