Admittedly, I did very little with my LinkedIn for close to 9 years, then in 2013 a friend described LinkedIn to me as "The business or professional or version of Facebook" and that one comment certainly grabbed my attention. Admittedly, I did very little with my LinkedIn for close to 9 years, then in 2013 a friend described LinkedIn to me as "The business or professional or version of Facebook" and that one comment certainly grabbed my attention. So I managed to find my old and original Login details and opened up my LinkedIn profile to see that I had only 207 connections and a very basic looking profile. Little did I know at the time that my LinkedIn journey was about to seriously begin! And that’s just for a Shodan (1st Degree Blackbelt). Kyokushin Blackbelt Gradings are hard, they hurt, for days afterward, you’re in pain! But once you’re through it, you’ve raised your own personal bar to a higher level you never imagined possible. Out of all the people who start training in Kyokushin, less than 1% of them make it through to Shodan. Pads!! In real Kyokushin, there are NONE! We don’t wear pads, our Adult Tournaments are Full Contact (Groin protectors for men only, women also wear chest protectors). Only those who have competed in Full Contact Tournaments will know just how much their own adrenaline masks the feeling of a punch or a kick that got through. This is the Kyokushin way, a path of humility and effort, it’s not for everyone, only for those with the commitment to the art itself, to their master, and to themselves. As a Sandan (3rd Dan) Kyokushin will always be the hardest and the proudest moment of my life. Experience: Over 28 years experience in martial arts, Judo (Brown belt) and Kyokushin Karate (Sandan 3rd Dan Blackbelt). Competed in full contact (No Pads) in State, National and International Championships including in Japan. In 2006 aged 43 years old, won the Victorian United Martial Arts Championships which was open to all different styles and disciplines, competed against opponents from Muay Thai, Tai Kwon Do, and Karate. My Kyokushin teacher and master is Hanshi Eddie Emin, respected as one of the top 3 in the world today. OSU Show less
