      I act as a technical consultant in the use of a brain-responsive, closed-loop neurostimulator for the treatment of epilepsy in hospitals and clinics throughout Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Alaska, Montana, & Wyoming.       Conduct experiments to better understand the mechanisms of deep brain stimulation (DBS) using both rat models and patient EEG data. • Developed a data pipeline for quantifying phase-amplitude coupling (PAC) in 19-channel EEG data collected from patients with Parkinson's Disease • Used statistical techniques to elucidate the relationship between severity of disease & magnitude of PAC in different areas of the brain • Conducted validated sensorimotor tests on rats with chronically implanted subthalamic electrodes to assess whether stimulation-induced beta frequency oscillations were sufficient to induce parkinsonian symptoms
