Jason Blanchard
I've taught 1000's of students at Full Sail University, and not many of them have made the impression on me as much as Derek did during his time there. He has one of the best work ethics I've ever come across. I dubbed him and his brother "The Fabulous Mleynek Brothers" because together they could get anything accomplished. I still talk about them in class, over 7 years later. Derek and his brother are excellent examples of what my current students should strive to be like. When I was producing my own projects during Derek's time as a student, I was very happy to have Derek on my crew. Without his hardwork and talent, I don't think we would have been able to accomplish as much as we did on those productions. I highly recommend Derek for any position he might be considered for, he will get the job done.

To sum it up, without Derek, our film "Barely" would've looked flat, lifeless, and absolutely horrid. His knowledge in lighting, and camera work, definitely made sure that the finished product was looking like a polished emerald instead of a jagged rock.
