  The State Financial Officers Foundation (SFOF) is a non-partisan, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization of state treasurers, comptrollers and chief financial officers. SFOF promotes fiscally responsible public policy and serves to educate the public, media and policy makers about the role of finance in a free market economy. To learn more visit www.statefinancialofficers.org. As President of SFOF Kreifels focuses on the core functions of the foundation to enable it to achieve its short and long term goals. He oversees the overall strategy for the organization. He also maintains relationships for development and educational purposes with private sector and association partners on Wall Street, the White House, the United States Congress and state government leaders across the country. He also directs and organizes two national meetings annually--working to connect some of the nation's thought leaders in banking, investing and finance with the organization. Some of the past speakers have included: Carly Fiorina, Donald Trump, Gov. George Pataki, James Kemp, Jim Clifton, Mary Eisenhower, Travis Brown, Karl Rove, Matt Schlapp, Vail Horton, Tamika Catchings, U.S. Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers, U.S. Rep. Ron Estes, Bret Baier, and Stephen Moore. Kreifels works with members of the media to promote SFOF and it's member financial officers. He is also a contributing writer for several national publications.

Smart Women Smart Money reaches over 5 thousand loyal, diverse, and engaged households every issue with our distinctive voice and sophisticated design. They connect to be empowered, to build relationships, and to better their financial knowledge for the benefit of themselves and their family. These women are the consumers of the content we serve them at our conferences and publication. They are the household decision makers. Who they are and how we reach them is what separates Smart Women Smart Money from the pack.As publishers we recruit our team of writers, photographers and editors to create entertaining, informative and newsworthy articles that appeal to women of all backgrounds.



Kansas State Treasurer

  • Serve as an agency head and deputy to a statewide elected official. • Manage all aspects of the Treasurer’s office including scheduling, policy development, legislative, budgeting and personnel. • Accountable for an office which processes over $21B annually which is comprised of 42 employees with an annual budget of over $3.5M. • Work to create new programs and modernize existing ones to reach out to a diverse set of Kansans with a wide variety of financial education materials. • Responsible for identifying innovative ways to help return unclaimed property to Kansans. • Work with Kansas 529 Learning Quest program and program manager to develop annual marketing plan which includes television, radio, newsprint, collateral material and other borderless marketing initiatives. • Continued to look for ways to increase use of technology in the office to reduce costs. • Direct Emergency Preparedness Operations plan for and training program for agency with exposure to FEMA, Dept. of Homeland Security as well as KS Dept. of Emergency Management. • Member of state Continuity of Operations (COOP) subcommittee.
