Finally, at eight-years-old, Dylan was diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome and our family was able to start making sense of Dylan’s differences. My memoir Chasing the Rabbit details my emotions and experiences coping with the diagnosis, treatment and adventures my wife and I experienced after our son was diagnosed with what at the time was called Asperger's Syndrome (now known as high-functioning autism or simply autism). When I wrote Chasing the Rabbit, there were no other books available written about autism by a dad for other dads. In Chasing the Rabbit: A Dad’s Life Raising a Son on the Spectrum, I share my experiences raising a son on the Autism spectrum. Both my son and I write about the challenges, triumphs and coping strategies from the early days to the adolescent years to life in the “real world” as a young adult. It is a look inside our lives as we struggle with discouragement and despair as well as when small milestones, such as "graduating" from 8th grade, take on intense significance. I promise this book and its companion memoir Bad Choice Make Good Stories; My Life with Autism, written by my son Dylan, will make you laugh, make you cry, make you angry and make you think. You may never look at autism the same way again! Show more Show less
