Passion Works CIC We believe … That people with passion are the driving force behind all social change. So, for communities to influence and engage with service providers, other communities and fellow citizens, we will go beyond providing robust evidence of need and realistic solutions and, most importantly, find connection, create empathy and stir passions for our causes. We place a high value on using individual and community strengths, experience and assets to provide shared resources, learning and development. Peer support and collaboration will be a key element of our approach and values. We firmly believe that individuals and communities are experts in their situation and should lead change and service provision. What we do Co-production, Coaching and Consultancy. We specialise in working with local grassroots organisations and communities and individuals. Those people changing their own and their neighbours’ lives and who are most likely to reach the people that others services can’t. Passion Works CIC will work with and alongside them to develop and fund projects for social change. Show less

I was responsible for growing the organisation and developing the bi-lingual advocacy model which the organisation from working with three communities to a broad range of BME communities consistently using over 15 languages and to the forefront of bilingual advocacy in the UK. Ensuring small and excluded BME community access and influence health, social care, benefit and entitlement services. Its success relied on the close involvement of service users in the design, delivery and evaluation of all operational activities, particularly in its use of trained and supported service users to deliver a hybrid peer/professional bilingual advocacy service to national standards. In essence Advocacy Support was an ongoing experiment in co-production. I lead the service through the Leeds joint advocacy review, the creation of the Advonet consortium which won the resulting £1M+ Advocacy contract in Leeds. Show less
