Biometric Health Screener

Biometric health screenings are provided to a variety of clients mostly in the Grand Rapids area as well as select organizations around the country. For this role, we take blood samples, BMI measures, and blood pressure for employees participating in the program and interpret their health results when provided. Communication with employees is key and our goal is to help them understand what their biometric measures mean.

For this practicum experience, I worked as a research epidemiologist to develop a better understanding of recovery capital and the role it can play at Building Men For Life. During this internship, I utilized academic journals and search engines to create a flyer to explain recovery capital and it's importance to residents. I also utilized Excel and SAS to create a report on intake and housing information for BMFL from 2008-2021.
