Bio
Bob Austin
I brought Dennis on-board at Loring to manage all of the marketing, sales, and customer service functions for the company. His strong background in product and brand management was what attracted me to him, and he proved to be a top performer in this area. The sales and customer service management were new to him but of course, he was familiar with both from his many years in marketing. Dennis organized and managed both these functions for an international business depended on relationships as we did not have direct sales staff anywhere in the world (we worked completely via Reps), and other than the small factory tech support group, we also outsourced our maintenance and repair work. All of this added up to a large, complex workload that Dennis handled in a diligent, competent, and professional manner. As a small company, we depended on high levels of communication, integrity, and hard work to make things happen. Dennis not only performed at a high level and easily met my expectations, he was often my go-to guy for brainstorming and sanity checks on all parts of the business. Bottom line is that I could not have had the success for Loring as CEO without his help.

I worked with Dennis while he initially served as the lead product line manager, and later as the team manager of product management, for the Cisco PIX firewall. During his tenure PIX grew to #1 in marketshare with yearly revenue growing from millions into hundreds of millions of dollars. During this time he successfully tackled multiple product, sales, and marketing growing pains; putting them all to rest in short order. Dennis is a highly calculating, collaborative, thorough, result generating, and well-versed product and marketing professional. I’d work with him again in a heartbeat if the opportunity arose.
