  RETIRED FROM MONROE TOWNSHIP SCHOOL DISTRICT- Monroe Township, New Jersey (over 46 years in the Monroe School District with more than 25 years as school principal). Past Principal(Presently Retired)- Applegarth Elementary School- Also opened, and was principal of three Elementary Schools: Brookside Elementary School 9/91, Oak Tree Elementary School 9/08, Applegarth Elementary School 9/12 • Highly effective Instructional Leader responsible for the total educational program of an outstanding comprehensive elementary school (gr. 4-5). • PARCC student achievement scores were recognized as being one of the highest when compared to district, county, state and PARCC Consortium States. • Utilize student achievement data and analysis to drive decisions regarding curriculum, instruction, and budget. • Supervise and evaluate teachers to ensure successful instruction utilizing the model detailed in the Art and Science of Teaching by Robert Marzano. • Ensure curriculum and instruction are aligned with CCCS • Lead staff in the infusion of technology in the classroom including STEAM activities, Robotics, iPads and Google Docs. • Prepare and manage all financial matters related to the school budget. • Develop, implement and oversee programs designed to promote the educational, physical and social development of all students. • Obtained training and practice in Coaching Leadership through Learning Forward grant. • Developed a school wide schedule to effectively administer PARCC according to state regulations. • Utilized safe school practices to assure students' and staff safety; oversee all building functions including busing, instruction, lunches, recess, etc. • Maintained open lines of communication with Parents, PTA and residents.   EXPERIENCE: 2014-2015 INTERIM-SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS Monroe Township Schools, Monroe, NJ • Provided visionary leadership for a district with over 6500 students including six elementary schools, one middle school and one high school. • Finalized contract negotiations with three bargaining units. • Successful implementation of the first PARCC administration. • Led the district in a successful redistricting process impacting six elementary schools. Proactively addressed all parent and staff concerns to ensure a positive transition. • Elevated district staff morale to a high degree as noted by staff and administration. • Implemented a series of program overviews and presentations for BOE and community in an effort to heighten awareness of program validity and cost effectiveness. • Worked closely with the Business Administrator to present a fiscally responsible budget for a $110 million dollar budget. • Achieved all 3 BOE developed district goals: 1) District Strategic Plan 2) Reviewing, evaluating and assessing current programs with an eye towards academic success and cost effectiveness 3) Seeking viable sources of revenue to provide support to the tax levy. • Maximized student success and achievement. Improved teacher effectiveness. • Maintained a safe, healthy and supportive learning environment for all students and staff. • Hired key personnel for critical administrative positions: Assistant Superintendent, two elementary Principals, Assistant Principal. Acting Principal, Acting Assistant HS Principal, and a District Arts and Careers Technology Supervisor. • I was evaluated very positively by the BOE using the six NJ Professional Standards for School Leaders. My performance met and/or exceeded all BOE expectations. Received performance commendations in the areas of Personnel Administration and Chief Executive Officer.
