Carolyn Murphy

Dennis has a comprehensive understanding of the relationship between quality inputs and quality outcomes in the education sector in general and its impact on e-learning in particular. His leadership in respect of quality input included securing programme materials written by authors of world class standing, and then he ensured that those materials were aligned with the NZ government’s Quality Assured Unit Standards when placed on-line for delivery. He also conceived and put in place a support programme that involved training facilitators in the areas that the programmes were to be delivered. The delivery was nationwide and tens of thousands of students successfully completed the programmes. The mode of delivery, blending on-line with face-to-face facilitators, was innovative at the time. Directly as a result of the positive experience of working with Dennis in the e-learning sector I engaged him to assist Te Wānanga o Aotearoa with its legislative compliance programme. At the time Audit NZ (government’s auditors) had raised legislative compliance as a high risk for the organisation. The programme that was developed, with Dennis as a key contributor, is now accepted by the New Zealand government’s auditors as a model compliance programme. Dennis was a significant contributor to this outstanding result; partly because of Dennis’s ability to understand complex issues and then his ability to communicate these issues in a non-threatening way to a wide audience. The way in which he integrates technology is non-intrusive, boosting both effectiveness and efficiency while supporting the end user. His work at Te Wānanga o Aotearoa was even more significant because this organisation is dedicated to transformation for the indigenous people of New Zealand. The material itself and the presentation of that material had to reflect their different ways of doing and being. Dennis was extremely successful at working with New Zealand’s indigenous people. He has the humility and the communication skills to work in this very complex environment and to deliver online learning.

We hired Zeatel to act as our Sales Agent for the Orcon international voice trading business. Professionalism and integrity are key when outsourcing a function such as this and Zeatel performed the function admirably.
