Working as an Intern in August Picture allows me to understand, observe and learn the workflow of the industry, from Pre-production, Production to Post-production. As an Intern, I watch the producers, researchers and the boss, incubate and pitch pitch heart-warming, original and creativity stories and ideas that evokes emotions from all ages. I felt that doing transcript thought me to be more observant, alert and aware. As i typed and listens to the stories of the interviewees for serval documentary, I was actually inspired. The stories from Syrians in the Jordan Refugee camp stuck a chord in my heart. How the Syrians suffered, travelling miles on foot and a small lifeboat Transcribing taught me to appreciate my life and m environment more, to see how blessed I am. Doing transcribing also taught me how to frame a scene, and how visuals can evoke emotions and deliver the stories.whether is transcribing in English, chinese or translating Cantonese to chinese. I felt that transcribing is more then just typing. it's an important job for the editors, and that by watching the clips you learn how to frame and see shots that will inspire you. As a Camera Assistant to different cameramen for different shoot and different series. Having to be on Set and go out for shoot was enjoyable. I was able to learn and observe on the field cameramen. I learn that Lens makes a different and so is lighting equipment. I was also in charge of ingesting data, converting them and exporting them for the editors and the broadcaster. I was blessed to have experiences with equipments like C100 mark II,canon 5D mark II/III,panasonic AG-AF100. Exposuring and familiarizing with these equipments with different Lens, setting up sound and lighting equipments. Even though this internship is short-lived, I learnt alot from this Internship. As a Part timer in Glacier, I am required to maintain a pristine level of good customer service, serving only the best quality of yogurt, smoothie, coffee and waffle with a smile. My responsibilities include making yogurt mix and waffle mix, taking orders for waffles and parfait. Serving and doing the Orders with a smile, while juggling the crowd, cashiering and taking orders. Having to operate the shop alone, I learnt to how to manage the customers, and learn to multi task, example doing the waffle while a customer comes and asking for sample, therefore i learn to be more alert to my surroundings.while working with other part timers, i learnt that communication is key. Having a systematic working ethic, we can help each others, and split the work load hence it will be easier and faster. Overall, i learn to be more initiative, to go out of the shop and promote the yogurts, give out sample, and to assist them when they have inquires in addition to be alert and aware of my surroundings. Working in the Food and Beverage line may seem easy and carefree, however it wasn't the case. I learnt to manage and maintain a calm and positive mindset when the crowd gets bigger or when things start to go wrong, for example the cash resister not responding, hence cause us to manually calculate the amount for them to pay. Learning to manage and handle difficult situations while still ensure a good attitude when encountering customers. Show less

My responsibilities was to pick up calls, and to assist the customer with Newspaper subscription. Dealing with any enquires with newspaper subscriptions. If a customer has got his newspaper calls in and complains, we have to find his account from the data base, and lodge a report or a note, to the delivering department, then once the delivery of paper is approve, we will call back and ensure the customer has the newspaper before closing the lodge. For newspaper subscription, we have to be aware of the pricing for each newspaper publications, and know all the promotion and terms & conditions. Using my words and tone to push sales and promotions. I learn to control my tone while on the phone with a customer, i realize how hard it was to work in a publishing company as its a professional environment. The work ethic there is tense and serious. Everyone is serious about work and their task in hand. This motivate me to work harder and be serious about the task in my hand, even thought its just a small task, to strive for excellence and handle difficult customers with a good attitude. Show less
