HISTORY: Denise Bibro began exhibiting the work of various groups of contemporary artists and artist organizations in corporate and alternative spaces in 1980. Among the spaces that she directed exhibitions are The Lever House Lobby at the Lever Corporation on Park Avenue, Crystal Pavilion owned by the Cohen Family, American Standard Lobby in Midtown Manhattan, and the lobby of the Rockefeller Townhouse on 54th Street, as well as other locations. During the 80s, she established an art salon in Union Square at the 41 Union Square building, which housed several outstanding artists. In 1987, she opened her first gallery in SoHo just opposite the SoHo Guggenheim Museum. Denise Bibro Fine Art moved to its current Chelsea location in 1997. The gallery is comprised of a main gallery as well as a project exhibition space, Platform, providing over 4,000 square feet of exhibition space. Presenting and promoting both emerging and established artists, the gallery has an emphasis on painting, works on paper, sculpture, and multi-media works. The programming for Platform explores conceptual work, various genres of painting and sculpture, video and installation work, as well as presenting collaborative projects with other curators and dealers. ADVISORY SERVICES: Ms. Bibro also provides comprehensive advisory services for both artists and collectors. For artists, she offers portfolio reviews, advice on promotion, publicity, and grant and residency writing. For collectors, she offers art appraisals, art inventory services, art advice, and installation services.
