Demetrius is an excellent instructor of human resources and employment law. He is well qualified in the field, having taught HR and employment law courses both at Ogeechee Technical College and Georgia Southern University. His real world HR experience made him a popular instructor with human resource management students at Ogeechee Technical College where students value hands-on learning experiences. Subsequent to his teaching at Ogeechee Tech, Mr. Bynes also served on the Management and Supervisory Development (MSD) Industry Advisory Committee where he was an enthusiastic supporter of the MSD program. Demetrius was very instrumental in our establishing an advisory committee to garner local industry support for the program, an essential ingredient in the success of technical education.

I have had the privilege of working with Demetrius while serving as a professional member, executive board member and President of the Statesboro Area SHRM Chapter for over 6 years. Working alongside Demetrius has truly been a joy. He is a person of integrity and HR professional that I hold in high regard. Demetrius is not only an asset to his employer, Georgia Southern University, but he is an asset to the Statesboro Area SHRM Chapter and the HR Community. Besides being a joy to work with, Demetrius is a take-charge person, strategic leader, EEO guru, an employment master mind, and highly regarded as a knowledgeable expert by his peers. For instance, Demetrius was given the task of chairing the Statesboro Area SHRM Chapter’s Annual Conference Committee. Under his leadership, the annual conference has increased its attendance by over 75% from previous years. During his tenure as a board member, the Statesboro Area SHRM Chapter has also seen an 80% increase in its membership and participation. The growth of the Statesboro Area SHRM Chapter is truly a reflection of his leadership and initiatives implemented by Demetrius. Though he is an asset to the Chapter as our conference chair, Demetrius has also been extremely diligent in other areas such as serving as treasurer, college relations chair, a professional mentor, and advisor to HR professionals within the organization. To be honest, I am very selective about whom I write recommendations, but Demetrius you are the exception. I have served in SHRM leadership and other professional capacities on a State level and I can honestly say that Demetrius Bynes is one of Georgia’s top HR professionals. Demetrius your future is bright!
