In this role, my job was to cold call small-medium New Zealand businesses and get in contact with the directors to help them understand the potential business they were losing by not appearing in google searches for their services offered. In the time I was in this 6-month contract I was able to learn a lot on how to infiltrate businesses and build a strong rapport with the decision-makers of those companies. I also was able to learn a base set of fundamental knowledge on google advertising as we were trained by official Google employees. Show less

In this role, my job was to go door-to-door around New Zealand and convince members of the public to donate money to select NZ charities on a monthly reoccurrence (usually $25-$45 a month for two years+) and ended up raising over $1million NZD for NZ charities. In this time frame of slightly over one year, I learned how to: - speak with and build rapport with people of all different ages and backgrounds enough to get them to enjoy my company before giving my sales pitch so that they would listen to me - read body language and tone of voice to understand if people were right for me to spend time with and worth utilizing my time to try and sell or if it was better to move on to the next person - the process someone needs to go through before being sold something - closing techniques (assumptive, alternative, silent, indifferent) - sales impulses (Greed, Fear of Loss, Indifference, Jones Theory, Sense of Urgency) - my numbers to get to a sale (KPIs/Key Performance Indicators) Show less
