Bio
Anand Nadkarni, M.D.
I have known Ms. Delores Bocklet for over 20 years. While I served as Medical Director for the Town of Islip ACCESS/ACCESSO Drug & Alcohol Program, Ms. Bocklet was the Clinical Supervisor and eventually became the Director. Under her leadership the program operated at the highest level and she always ensured any and all clinical standards, operating regulations, and best practices were not just adhered to, but exceeded. Numerous times I participated in audits and program reviews, all of which were successful, and the auditors applauded Ms. Bocklet’s ability to exceed program performance goals and objectives, which also exceeded best practice standards. Not only is Ms. Bocklet a phenomenal clinician, but she has also mastered the ability to mentor and lead. I have witnessed numerous individuals (interns, recent graduates, and newly licensed clinicians) begin working at the agency and watched them grow and develop under Ms. Bocklet stewardship. After Ms. Bocklet took over as Director for the Town of Babylon’s Drug & Alcohol Program, I eventually came on to serve as Medical Director. This time I witnessed Ms. Bocklet implement her strategies, policies, and wisdom to a previously struggling program. Quickly the agency became sustainable, fiscally viable, and most importantly, was providing treatment at the highest level. Ms. Bocklet has navigated through the bureaucracy that comes with running a program within a local government entity. She has always balanced the needs of the client population with the administrative and funding realities of a fiscally strained program. She has also been able to consistently manage the sensitive nature of this field as it relates to community relations. Ms. Bocklet never backed down and advocated for this much needed service. Throughout all that, she was able to prevent any of this from impacting her staff. It has been a tremendous honor to work alongside Ms. Bocklet and see the impact she has had on so many peoples’ lives. She is directly responsible for helping combat the ongoing opioid epidemic that is plaguing Suffolk County. I have worked in this field for 40 years and without any hesitation would entrust Ms. Delores Bocklet to undertake any position or challenge she seeks.
