Working as a Lead RA for a National Institute of Health Research (NIHR) multi-centre randomised controlled trial. Main duties included screening eligibility and initiating telephone contact with eligible service users to inform about the study and obtain informed consent. Inputing data from questionnaires to generate a report and ensuring all spreadsheets, databases and the participant’s clinical record system are accurate and up-to-date to reflect the involvement in the study. Problem-solving to overcome challenges to recruitment and ensure these targets are met. Furthermore, within this role, I have presented at a Trust research event to inform about current ongoing research and have held a stall at a Trust away day. Within my role as an AP, working within a multidisciplinary mental health team to support the psychological assessment and intervention for children and adolescents experiencing clinical anxiety or depression. My main duties involve initiating telephone contact with referred service users and their parents, in the first stage of assessment process. This involves assessing and gathering information about the presenting difficulties, developmental and school history, and risk. Providing appropriate resources and psycho-education or discharging/signposting to another service, as necessary to the outcome of the telephone assessment. Furthermore, my role involves supporting the launch, and ongoing development, of an online support and recovery network for parents within the service. Inviting parents, and explaining the function of the anonymous network to support the growth of the group. Ensuring spreadsheets are kept updated. Problem-solving technical challenges and working on the continual growth of the network through facilitating parent interaction and ensuring that the network is a supportive group by communicating and responding to parent’s posts and posting helpful information and resources. Working within a multidisciplinary mental health team to support the psychological assessment and intervention for children and adolescents experiencing clinical anxiety or depression. Main duties included co-facilitating individual and group therapy (for example, intensive OCD home visits, 'Adolescent anxiety CBT group', and ‘Overcoming’ Group), administering and scoring routine outcome measures (ROMs) and writing initial assessment reports. These reports were send the the service user and their General Practitioner (GP), outlining relevant diagnoses, details of presenting problems, identified risk and agreed care plan. Using formulation skills to understand how relevant areas for treatment can be targeted. Within this role, I played a central role in implementing pre-assessment workshops, as part of a new opt-in system, to improve assessment cancellations and reduce wait-list times. This included collating feedback from service users to help inform decision-making when making changes and improvements to the workshops. This helped to ensure that the workshops were successful in increasing the number of service users who attended initial assessment appointments. Furthermore, my role involved managing secure databases such as carrying out a Psychiatrist caseload audit and cross-referencing Excel spreadsheets to ensure accuracy and consistency. Show less
