I was part of the diabetes research group. Our main project focused on the proinflammatory effect of adipokine on endothelial cells and the protective benefits that rosiglitazone offered. I learned to isolated, culture and differentiate human preadipocytes in vitro. After successfully obtaining stable and characterized cell cultures I used Western Blotting to detect changes in protein expression in absence or the presence of different concentrations of rosiglitazone and PCR to quantify changes in DNA expression.
