Bio
Tim Vogus
I've known Deirdre for the past two years. She was a student in my Leading Teams and Organizations (LTO) and Negotiation classes at the Vanderbilt Owen Graduate School of Management. Deirdre was a strong student in LTO, but her talents were truly on full display in Negotiation class. Her unique combination of intellect and intellectual curiosity greatly benefited the entire class. She was often able to make the types of in-class contributions that transformed the classroom conversation and took it to a deeper and more impactful place. Doing so relied on her command of the course material and her ability to express her thoughts with clarity and eloquence. She did both regularly. What also distinguishes Deirdre is her humility. In my research I find that to be the unacknowledged trait of great leaders, they're able to acknowledge they might not know everything and want to draw upon the wisdom of those they manage. Deirdre has really honed this critical skill as she would offer some insightful thoughts and invite others in to deepen and refine her understanding. It always worked and I was always grateful. I recommend Deirdre to any company because she possesses a strong combination of intellect, learning orientation, maturity, confidence, and interpersonal skills that will serve her well as a professional and a leader.
