  The SEPA (Single Euro Payment Area) project represents the next major step towards closer European integration. SEPA will allow customers to make non-cash euro payments to any beneficiary located anywhere in the euro area using a single bank account and a single set of payment instruments. The project is run by the banking industry which created the European Payments Council (EPC) in 2002 for this purpose. The EPC has defined the new schemes, frameworks, rules and standards for euro payments. The implementation of SEPA is being undertaken by European banking communities and all other stakeholders. Direct Debit File will be coming from Creditor Side and will be given to STEP2 for Validations and after validating STEP2 will generate certain files and send it back to either to creditor side or debtor side.
