Cool Effect is a non-profit organization that enables each of us 130 million Americans who are Alarmed and Concerned about Climate Change* to participate in the reduction of global climate emissions. (*Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies). The average American emits global warming emissions equivalent to about 17 tonnes of CO2 per year. At Cool Effect anyone can support carbon emission-reducing and technologically innovative projects in the U.S and the world. Cool Effect triple verifies the documentation on the projects it presents and uses science to evaluate the best ones for the platform. The technologies are often simple but effective; methane capture from animal waste and improved cookstoves are good examples. Many projects also include other benefits such as improvements in the health, welfare and environments of poor communities. The time has come for us to step up and help save the planet! Let's do more in an affordable, transparent and easy way that fits our lives. Support some projects and learn more at http://cooleffect.org. Show less

The Integrity Council for the Voluntary Carbon Market (Integrity Council) is an independent governance body for the voluntary carbon market, which aims to ensure the voluntary carbon market accelerates a just transition to 1.5 degrees centigrade. The Integrity Council sets and enforces definitive global threshold standards for the voluntary carbon market, drawing on the best science and expertise available, to channel finance towards genuine and additional greenhouse gas reductions and removals that go above and beyond what can otherwise be achieved, and that contribute to climate resilient development.
