  What started out as a way to supplement my income and my time after the loss of my father has turned out to be a rewarding experience. My mother worked as a cashier most of my childhood and as a teen I had helped her stock the cooler, clean a bathroom, wait on customer, etc but never seen the big picture. My focus was on hurry up get the job done so we can go do something fun. What I have learned is that when you do your job right...the customers will drive past other convenience stores and believe it or not pay ridiculous prices just to see your smiling face. I have enjoyed getting to know the "regulars" some of which I have found that I look forward to seeing just as much. I recently scored a perfect 100 from a mystery shopper so I am pretty happy.   As a licensed theraputic foster parent I bring children that have become a ward of the State of Indiana and/or are currently on Juvenile Probation that have been temporarily and/or permanently removed from their bio families into my home. I work with these children as I would my own child to help them get their lives back on track. Some times this requires the help of psychiatris, therapist, skill builders, CASA, DCS, Probation officers, drug/alcohol classes in addition to working with the school system. Most often these children suffer from post traumatic stress disorder, learning disabilities, mental/physical abuse, neglect etc....so they have difficulty building strong relationships.
