I began as an administrative assistant for the Department of Specialty Medicine, supporting the faculty in any way necessary before and during the kick off of a new medical school. I was promoted to Coordinator, then Director of the Testing Center -- charged with compilation, proofing, editing, administration and scoring of all medical school exams. I then was promoted to residency coordinator of the new internal medicine residency at Sky Ridge Medical Center! Provided administrative support for the Residency Program Director, faculty and residents. Liaison between residency and hospital administration with regard to hospital and specialty rotations. Coordinated ER backup schedule. Prepared schedule templates for the call schedule, the clinic schedule, and special events such as orientation and graduation. All residency applicants came through my office for pre-screening, were then passed on for review and then invited for interviews or sent rejection letter. I greeted each medical student, coordinated tours and lunches, interviews and follow up. I prepared a data base which converted to power point for rank night for our list for the national data bank. Managed clinical rotation data and evaluation through New Innovations, kept track of academic progress and served as den mother for the residents. I was charged with credentialing for all physicians and residents, attended faculty meetings, took minutes and distributed salient information. Show less
