I currently work with students in grades three through six that are struggling to meet grade level standards in math and reading. I analyze data to determine students needs and schedule daily intervention services. I meet with students in small intervention groups in the classroom and in small groups outside their homeroom. The smaller group setting allows for targeted instruction and more personal interaction between student and teacher. My responsibilities included planning and incorporating engaging lesson for a 4th grade classroom. These lessons included but were not limited to implementing literature circles, hands-on science lab investigations for a weathering and erosion unit, and creating math centers. I was also responsible for ensuring that students were safe and were behaving in a respectful way towards teachers, staff and fellow classmates.
