• Responsible for the availability of quality seed by ensuring prompt intake of seed barley, proper storage, and processing of the same to be available to the customer on demand.• Ensure optimum stock holding levels for proper working capital management while at the same time ensuring that there is enough grain to meet customer demands.• Ensure use of proactive procurement strategies and introduction of Modern and best practice purchasing techniques and establishing of strong supplier relationships to afford the company an upper hand in competition.• Have in place long term strategies to sustain grain supplies to customers given that the crops are grown through rain fed irrigation to avoid stock outs given the volatile weather challenges in the country.• Inventory Management and quality control (Finished goods, Raw materials and packaging materials) -Create and execute stores schedule, optimize process, manage reconciliation and treatment of variances.• Stores set up- ensure warehouses (owned or leased) meet the company's health, safety and environmental standards, optimize lighting, security, signage, warehouse racks and layout configuration.• Lead the team and maintain a good working relationship with other cross functional teams both internally and externally as well as ensure that they are fully engaged to achieve departmental goals.• Develop and implement stores procedures and quality manuals in line with quality and environmental standards as well as Controls and Risk management procedures.• Responsible as a priority for providing weekly and monthly stock take reports and documenting the same as per agreed schedules.• Review warehouse placement strategies to ensure efficiency in warehouse operations and optimize space utilization.• Responsible for managing departmental expenses, annual budget planning and control to ensure optimal expenditure of allocated resources.
