  The passion and focus of D L English Design is the creation of intuitive, authentic spaces that embed themselves in the psyche of consumers through branding & design, architectural interiors & exteriors, and environmental graphics. As founder and leader of DLE, Deborah English has been creating enticing environments by fusing design and art for over twenty years. With various teams, she has successfully completed 1,000's of projects over which she has had responsibility for all aspects of project development, from strategic planning and marketing through construction and visual display. In 2001, English established D L English Design Studio as an architectural design firm with a focus on hospitality and retail. In 2009, firm services expanded to include in-house fabrication and installation to help guide each project through completion, ensuring the most accurate translation of the design intent. Whenever possible, her firm works with local suppliers and manufacturers to support small business and the local economy. Prior to starting the firm, English was Vice President of Store Design and Construction for Wherehouse Entertainment, Inc. and Bristol Farms Markets, Inc. During her tenure at these nationally recognized multi-unit retailers, her responsibilities encompassed corporate development, including: strategic positioning, store planning, design, architecture, environmental graphics, budget management, and construction and facilities maintenance. English is a vocal advocate for the merging of art and architecture. Passionate about both, she strives to manifest this creative vision in all DLE projects. She uses her influence to create a greater awareness in both her client base and the consumer community through highly original, intentional ‘hand-crafted spaces’.
