Ms.Downey is an awesome vocal coach. The best part that I and my daughter like about Ms.Downey is that she doesn't subscribe to teaching 'a particular' style of music. She works with each student to explore different kinds of music and helps the students to pick their style and then helps them improve on that style. She also arranges stage performances (at churches, coffee shops, etc.) every quarter which helps the students a lot to build their confidence and stage presence. Her vast experience as a choir director really shows in the way she teaches. She helps students with posture, breathing techniques, developing the right singing voice, and learning many techniques to sing different styles. She is extremely nice to the kids and finds the right balance of being nice yet pushing their boundaries. My daughter has been going to her for over a year now and we are extremely happy and would highly recommend her.

We perform live music for coffee shops gigs twice yearly . Students may solo at Church as pianists or vocalists. Many of my students are active in musical theatre or even talent competitions.
