    • Teen Board Liaison
      • Sep 2016 - Present

The Philly Friendship Circle is an organization that seeks to create a community of tolerance and acceptance. It pairs teens with and without special needs, in an effort to create meaningful relationships (like my treasured friendship with Aubrey). I have participated in both their Sunday Circle and Friends at Home programs. My freshman and sophomore year I was on the general board, and my junior year I was on the executive board, leading my committee's monthly meetings. This year I am the sole teen board liaison, connecting the teen board with the larger adult board. I run social media, spread community awareness, develop Friends at Home programming, and present teen points of view to the board. Show less

    • Co President
      • Sep 2018 - Present

The Radnor Young Democrats Club works in tandem with local representatives to integrate youth into various political environments. We are dedicated to supporting budding Democrats and discussing important and relevant issues (such as climate change, immigration policies, constitutional rights, and free speech, among many others). Our meetings focus on including a variety of voices and facilitating discussion. Some recent projects have included registering voters, distributing signs, fundraising, and presenting issues of highest priority to the school board and other local government officials. I became a co-president in my junior year and continued this role throughout my senior year. Over the summer (2021), I worked with the Radnor Dems to develop an intern program to include more social media, outreach, and fundraising and continue to serve as an intern coordinator and leader. • Radnor Beats Section Editor
      • Sep 2018 - Present

Radnorite is the Radnor High School newspaper. I joined the club my freshman year, was appointed to Assistant Editor of the "Radnor Beats" section my sophomore year, and was promoted to Section Editor of the "Radnor Beats" in my junior year, which I have continued to relish in my senior year. In addition to editing, I have written articles that have included eulogies, movie reviews, and political awareness pieces. My favorite piece explored the evolving portrayal of women in Marvel superhero movies. Show less

    • Award Winning Delegate

Radnor's Model United Nations team is comprised of a teacher-selected group of students who compete regionally in United Nations simulations. The club attends 4 yearly conferences in Washington DC, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and New York. While at the conferences, pairs or individuals work within a committee to draft and pass a resolution to address a simulated international crisis. I like researching and defending a position with social impact. This past year I won best delegate at EAGLEMUNC. The Multicultural Club embraces diversity throughout the Radnor High School community. During each weekly meeting the leaders choose a holiday or country to celebrate. Students make or bring food from that country, while leaders prepare information on the meeting's topic. Building a community through food sharing, laughter, and welcomeness, the multicultural club is a sanctuary and celebration of diversity and discovery. For the 2021-2022 school year, I was selected as a club leader. The Multicultural Club embraces diversity throughout the Radnor High School community. I was inducted into the Honor Council in my freshman year and served starting my sophomore year. The club hosts brown bag lunches, lectures, simulations and talks. We also welcome rising 9th graders by presenting a panel prior to the start of the school year and offering personalized tours around the school. My synagogue partnered with the national Impact Center to create a mentoring program for social action and community service. Teens engage with social justice activists and projects through study and immersive experiences. Weekly meetings explore political and societal issues, as well as provide community service to aid the homeless and disabled. This experience has allowed me to explore not just the politics of the disenfranchised but to connect with communities I might otherwise not have understood and/or appreciated. Show less

    • Research Assistant
      • Jul 2021 - Aug 2021

Over the summer of 2021, I participated in the Pennsylvania's Governor’s School of the Science. This program fully funds 50+ students statewide who demonstrate excellence in STEM fields to create a collaborative community of learning..Students take core classes from Carnegie Mellon University Professors in biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, and computer science. For my lab work, I worked in the biology lab with Dr. Carrie Doonan and completed two bacteria transformations and a DNA extraction. As part of my team project, I presented our data and researched and analyzed x-ray diffraction, the discovery of DNA (including the seminal work of Rosalind Franklin, James Watson, and Francis Crick), and genomic sequencing with modern applications. Along with a symposium presentation, I co authored a paper on these topics published in the CMU Journal. Show less

    • Research Assistant
      • Jun 2020 - Jan 2021

Over the summer of 2020, I participated in the research lab of Dr. Sandra W. Ryeom, Ph.D. at the University of Pennsylvania. I initially focused on understanding the autonomic nervous system and reviews on gastric cancer, then moved towards investigating gastric cancer innervation and reviewing primary papers showing that denervation suppresses gastric tumorigenesis. I also virtually worked alongside graduate student Charlie Ho and another high school student to explore early detection of gastric cancer. Show less
