  The main part of my role is to assess recognition applications from organisations wishing to become regulated awarding organisations. Once recognised this will enable the organisation to develop, deliver and award qualifications by Ofqual. My role involves analysing evidence submitted to assess if an organisation can demonstrate it has the capability to meet our requirements (Criteria for Recognition). I am required to have an in-depth knowledge of the requirements of Ofqual including how awarding organisations demonstrate their ability to remain compliant. I have also been involved in looking at an awarding organisations compliance with the General Conditions of Recognition and making recommendations for enforcement action.

  In this role I responded to complex complaints from stakeholders relating to awarding organisations. I carried out investigations in to those complaints looking to ensure awarding organisations were compliant with our codes of practice. The role involved liaising with various stakeholders including compliance managers and responsible officers to ensure that Learners were not disadvantaged as a result of the actions of an awarding organisation.
