My responsibilities include taking creative brief through to print ready artwork (or digital). I enjoy finding the best and most efficient way of producing a project from the very beginning - allowing for inevitable amends to be done effectively and swiftly. With my background in brand guidelines I love to produce work which follows the creative but also keeps the brand identity. I also enjoy writing prototypes which allow for very quick and accurate input of data from Excel. This automation technique is being used more and more to enable fast, accurate artworking - perfect for additional language documents or just lots of similar artworks! I also now speak some Turkish - not generally that useful for artwork but you never know! Show less

After the company acquired an Indian artwork studio, I travelled to Bangalore 6 times over two years to train the art workers and oversee large projects. Whilst in back in Leeds I had daily skype calls with the indian team to discuss and plan resource and developed training videos to help communicate working practice.

Working in a small team on a very fast turnaround client. Problem solving and flexibility were key words in this position! We were brand guardians at this time for Argos, which meant that I was producing, and overseeing the implementation of, around 16 graphics packs per year. The other agencies involved in production were able to speak directly to me or request information or assets to enable us to ensure absolute consistency for the client.

I started work for this company as a junior paste board artist straight from college. The company changed names many times over the years becoming Underline, Creative Convergence, On Demand Information and Simpsons. I had the opportunity to work with two "Maestros of Typography" during this time which gave me a love and appreciation of type.
